I want to make it crystal clear to the pilot group, our fellow employees and Delta management that we will not sit idly by while mid-level managers on the fourth floor decide to ignore sections of our contract. The Delta pilots deserve better and have collectively worked tirelessly to achieve the improvements negotiated in our new PWA.
The grievance process outlined by the Railway Labor Act (RLA) is a backstop to disagreements between the two parties. It was never intended to be used in the manner by which Delta management sees it – as an end-run around our hard-fought for language in an attempt to have a third-party change the original intent of the language.
Additionally, it is unconscionable that millions of dollars are due to pilots for PWA violations that have yet to be paid or in some instances, takes months to be paid. ALPA spends a significant amount of dues dollars and time as the pay auditing arm of Delta. It is past time for Delta to automate their payroll for contractual violations and pay pilots on time and in a manner that is transparent for all.
Please watch the following video for more details about the current situation we find ourselves in as we fight to implement our PWA.
