Your Negotiating Committee, as directed by your elected LEC representatives and driven by pilot feedback, is moving forward with a focused and deliberate strategy for this round of negotiations. Delta promotes itself as the premium airline, and our opener reflects that same standard, ensuring Delta pilots benefit from the results they deliver.
Strategy
The Delta MEC has identified a clear window of opportunity to secure immediate, high-value gains for the pilot group on an accelerated time frame. Rather than pursuing a traditional contract term of 3–4 years (which is frequently accompanied by a lengthy negotiation), we are pursuing a short-term agreement focused on a core set of significant economic and quality of life gains that deliver solutions now. This strategy allows us to build on our industry-setting contract, respond to current conditions, and continue to advance pilot priorities while preserving the ability to return to the table in short order for the next round.
This approach is backed by months of preparation and the full engagement and support of your elected LEC representatives, the MEC Administration, and ALPA National resources. The contractual enhancements we are pursuing represent significant steps forward, improving the financial wellbeing and day-to-day quality of life of Delta pilots, reflecting the priorities you have set.
Our Standard
The direction from your MEC is unambiguous: any agreement must meet the premium standards Delta pilots expect. If the Company fails to deliver the full value rightfully earned by Delta pilots via this accelerated path, we are prepared to execute a traditional Section 6 process and go the distance. The ball is in the Company’s court.
This afternoon we exchanged contract openers with the Company. Our opener (linked below) reflects the direction your elected union representatives provided.
