The last few weeks have seen a scheduled break in negotiations. Your Negotiating Committee used that time productively to analyze proposals and prepare for the upcoming rounds at the table. 

Negotiations resumed this week and will continue at an aggressive pace through the August 24-28 MEC meeting. At the August meeting, we will brief your elected union reps on the progress made over the next six weeks. The MEC will determine whether the current approach remains the best path, or whether a change in strategy is warranted.

PBS Upgrades Affecting All Pilots: New Tools, Better Bids

The PBS Committee is back on Engage with important updates for every Delta pilot. PBS Committee Chairman Captain Scott Ryan and Vice Chairman Captain Brett Vining join host First Officer Ryan Argenta to explain the upcoming NavBlue PBS release, including the move to single sign-on through DeltaNet, the new PBS link, and what pilots need to know before bidding for the September schedule.

The episode walks through several new and optional PBS features, including total pay visibility, short call bidding, award reserve day on, auto-save, and bug fixes pilots have been asking for. Scott and Brett also explain how third-party bidding services may be affected by single sign-on and MFA requirements.

Beyond the technical updates, the conversation dives into practical bidding strategy, including low-credit line techniques, why bidding smarter can improve quality of life, and how individual pilot bidding behavior can affect category staffing, reserve numbers, and premium flying. Whether you bid every month with precision or still feel like PBS is a black box, this episode offers useful updates, reminders, and strategies to help pilots better understand the system and make PBS work for them.

ALPA International has contracted with the University of New Hampshire to conduct an independent ALPA-wide poll of all members.

Throughout July and early August, a random and statistically balanced subgroup of ALPA members from all pilot groups in the United States and Canada will begin receiving phone calls between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. local time. 

All calls will come from 603-397-0660. On a landline phone, the caller ID will say “UNH Surv Ctr,” and on a cell phone the number will come in as “NH Call.”

If you receive a call, you are encouraged to take a few moments to share your thoughts on how your union is performing and what key goals should be. Your feedback is essential to helping ALPA serve you better.

Delta MEC Dues Return Offer

At the recent Regular MEC meeting in Park City, UT, your elected union representatives unanimously voted to authorize a return offer of $10 million of eligible dues. Please note, this is in addition to the dues return offer planned by National later this summer. Processing of returns will begin July 21, 2026.

The fastest way to receive returned dues is to set up direct deposit. If you have not set up direct deposit, or would like to verify your information, please do the following:

1. Visit mydirectdeposit.alpa.org and log in with your ALPA ID and password. There are Forgot Member Number/Forgot Password links on the sign-in page should those details be needed.
2. Confirm, update, or fill out your account information on the secure site. 

Pilots who choose the direct deposit option will receive an email notification when the payment file is transferred to ALPA’s bank for processing.

If you prefer a mailed check, please update or confirm your mailing address at www.alpa.org/memberaccount. There are Forgot Member Number/Forgot Password links on the sign-in page should those details be needed. Once you’ve reviewed and updated or confirmed your correct mailing address, there’s no further action required.

ALPA National Dues Return Offer: Watch Your Email

ALPA’s Executive Council has authorized a dues return offer for the third consecutive year. This year’s offer totals $53 million, and all pilots who were dues obligated in 2025 are eligible.

Eligible pilots will receive an email from DuesReturn@alpa.org with instructions on receiving your dues return offer. You will need to provide direct deposit information for an electronic funds transfer or confirm your mailing address for a paper check.

DuesReturn@alpa.org is an official ALPA email address. It is extremely important for all pilots to take the steps outlined in the email to ensure you can receive and accept your offer.
